eLynx offers multiple ways for users to receive valuable SCADA alarms such as text, voice callout, and email. Acknowledging these alarms not only documents someone is aware of an issue but they stop further escalation notifications from being sent and update the alarm status within the application. Just like the multiple methods of delivery, users are able to acknowledge via the Web Application, Mobile Application, Text, Voice Callout, and Email. The following paragraphs define how to acknowledge an alarm using each method.
Web Application
Acknowledgment from the Alarm Setpoint Details Screen
On the Summary Listing screen, values in an alarm state are shown in the company defined alarm state color. To acknowledge the alarm, click on the value to navigate to the Alarm Setpoint section of the Tag Details screen.
For this example the Battery was in alarm for low voltage.
After navigating to the Alarm Setpoint section of the Tag Details screen, select the more options icon on the far right side of the setpoint in alarm and click Acknowledge from the options shown.
After clicking acknowledge, a pop-up notification will display momentarily in the upper right corner of the eLynx Application to confirm the acknowledgment as well as the alarm color will shift from the company defined alarm unacknowledged color to the acknowledged color, indicating the value is still in an alarm state but it has been acknowledged.
The system adds the details on how, who and when the alarm was acknowledged.
**Note that if you navigate to the Alarm Setpoints tab at the Device Details level, all setpoints associated with the device will be shown on screen.
Acknowledgment from Image View Alarm Banner
From an Image View, select the Active Alarms banner from along the bottom of the screen.
Click Acknowledge on the desired alarm.
After clicking Acknowledge, a pop-up notification will display momentarily in the upper right corner of the eLynx Application to confirm the acknowledgment. Note the Alarm Status will shift to "Acknowledged" and the Action button will be removed for the acknowledged alarm.
Mobile Application
Acknowledgment from Group Summary
From the Group Summary, touch the Alarms category to view all devices that are currently in an alarm state.
To acknowledge, from the Alarm Setpoints screen, swipe to the left on the setpoint that is in alarm and tap on Acknowledge.
Once acknowledged, the screen will refresh and the acknowledged alarm color will change and the acknowledgement details are added.
Acknowledgment from Device Details or Tag Details
From Device Details or Tag Details, tap the three dot ellipse to access the more actions menu.
From the More Actions menu, tap Setpoints.
To acknowledge, from the Alarm Setpoints screen, swipe to the left and tap on Acknowledge.
Once acknowledged, the screen will refresh and the acknowledged alarm color will change and the acknowledgement details are added.
Text
Alarms are sent via the eLynx Short Code, 78690. The first time you receive an alert, you will receive an opt-in message immediately followed by the Alarm Message
Each alarm message contains a unique EID (Embedded Identity Document) number that acts as a record identifier for the alarm. Simply reply to the text with this number to acknowledge the Alarm instance.
The EID MUST be included to acknowledge.
Pro Tip: Press on the received message, select copy, paste the whole message in the text and hit send.
Once a reply containing the EID is sent, you will receive a confirmation of the acknowledgement.
Voice Callout
Voice callouts are made from 866-303-5969. After the initial alarm message is relayed, press 1 to acknowledge. An immediate message will respond “You have acknowledged this alarm”. Once the alarm clears, an additional call is made notifying of the change in alarm state.
Alarm emails are sent from notification@elynxtech.com
Once a setpoint with email notifications goes into Alarm, an email is sent with the information defined by the administrator for the setpoint.
To acknowledge the alarm, reply to the email with the initial message included. Just like with text, the message must contain the EID number for the acknowledgement. Once acknowledged an additional email is sent with the acknowledgement details.
