Dynamic Grouping

Devices can be populated into groups using Dynamic Criteria. Dynamic groups contain devices that meet specified criteria. The criteria can be based on attributes, tag values and alarm states. The criteria is applied in real-time enabling group operations from Summary Listing to reports, to take on a dynamic, targeted nature. Note that devices must meet all specified criteria in order to be included in the group dynamically.

Requirements: Users must have Group Modify permissions to create or edit a group. Please contact your eLynx Administrator or eLynx Support if you need assistance.

Navigate to the Administration menu

• Click on the wrench icon
• Select Group Administration

• Navigate to the group to be populated

• Select the Dynamic Group Criteria tab

Enable Dynamic Grouping for selected group

Select Add Criteria

Choose a source group

Select an Attribute

Enter the Attribute Value

Update to apply criteria

Group is now populated based on the attribute criteria indicated by the refresh icon

Choose the Tag Type: Default - Any Tag in Alarm

• By default, Any Tag in Alarm is selected

Note: Multiple criteria can be used to dynamically populate a group. Criteria is “and” based. Each criterion must be met for devices to populate the group.
