Object Administration - Tank Styles
Tank Styles in the eLynx application control information like how the volume is measured (BBL's, Gallons, Cubic Meters) and the tank dimensions (Height, volume per inch, capacity).
Each Tank in the system is associated with a Style to define these properties.
You can reach Tank Style management by selecting Administration, then Object Administration, and finally selecting Tank Styles from the menu.
The system will show you a screen with a list of all the currently defined Tank Styles.
Creating a new Tank Style
To create a new Tank Style click the plus button in the upper right corner of the screen.
This will pop-up a window to gather the information for the new Tank Style.
You can enter a Description, select the Unit of Measure (Barrels, Cubic Meters, or Gallons), then enter any two of the following three pieces of information. Tank Height (must be entered in inches), Inches Multiplier (the volume each inch in the tank represents), or Capacity, the total volume the tank can hold.
For most users the Tank Height and Capacity are the two values that you will enter, but the system will always calculate and display the third value based on the two you entered.
There is also a checkbox labeled "Liquid Production" - This box should be checked for any tanks that will be used as part of a Tank Battery for use in calculating Liquid Production information.
NOTE: Liquid Production REQUIRES the tank Unit Of Measure be set to Barrels, it will change it automatically if you click the check box.
After all required properties are filled in the Save button in the lower right corner will enable, click it to create a new Tank Style.
Editing a Tank Style
Each card in the main display has a more options button near the right side that allows you to edit that Tank Style and change the parameters. (You can not turn Liquid Production off after a Tank Style is created. After making your changes click the Save button in the lower right corner to update the Tank Style.
You can click on the options button:to enter filter criteria and search for a Tank Style description. Since only the description is searchable, we recommend that the Description contains all three of the dimensions as part of the description. (i.e. 1.82 bbl/in (16 FT x 350 BBL), now I can filter based on any of these criteria.
NOTE: Changing a Tank Style will update every Tank object in the system that uses that Tank Style, if you are unsure it's best to create a new Tank Style.
