The Well Review page is a new user experience from eLynx designed to quickly allow users to review wells that fall into predefined categories, including those that the new analytics tools have identified as 'at risk'. These categories exist to reduce the time needed to identify wells that need attention or require immediate action to prevent impacts on production or operations.
This new page utilizes a new well object feature that serves to combine multiple end device types into a single well object. For example, you might have a TotalFlow device and wellhead tubing and casing pressure devices that are currently setup as independent devices in SCADALynx. Well objects roll both of those end devices into a single well object which allows the analytics platform to bring in those data points and return analytics results at the well level. Well objects can be viewed in a summary listing similar to existing devices but have predefined tags that are specifically designed for well analytics. Currently these tags are predefined by lift type but will be opened to user configurations over time.
Once you have well objects setup in a group, the new Well Review screen can then be used. To access the new Well Review screen, select the group that contains wells objects and then select the Well Review option from the sidebar on the left.
The Well Review page has two major interfaces, the Well Review Dashboard which is used to review aggregated data on the entire set of wells in the current group, and the Well Data view that provides more detailed insight into a single wells performance and status.
The Well Review Dashboard is the first view that is brought up when selecting the Well Review icon on the left side navigation bar. The screen as currently configured can be broken down into three main pieces:
- Group and Well Navigator Pane on the left
- Production Summary in the center
- Production Status indicators on the right
The Group and Well Navigator Pane on the consists of four dynamic groups that filter wells into each group based on predefined conditions. These groups and the requirements for each are:
- Producing Wells – Current data reflects normal production
- Unknown Wells – No communication with well for > 4 hours
- At Risk of Being Down – Have current data but an anomaly has been detected by analytics
- Down Wells – Data is current but well is showing no flow for > 4 hours
Note that each group requirements can be viewed by clicking on the i next to the group.
Each group can be expanded by clicking on the plus button next to the group or by clicking on any area in the pie chart which will then list the existing wells in that group on the panel on the left. Additional information such as the wells Target Production and current Variance from that target are then displayed for each well.
The center Group Production Summary section contains aggregated production data for all wells in the group along with yesterday and 30-day average production tables at the bottom. Production bar charts also display target production volumes for the group so that production vs target can be reviewed over time.
The Production Status pane on the right displays a pie chart representing the number of wells in each group. The chart updates dynamically and refreshes every 15 minutes as wells move in and out of the groups overtime as their status changes.
The Production Status pane also displays a bar chart which indicates the associated volume of each groups target production against the theoretical target production of all wells in the group.
Selecting a well from one of the drop-down groups bring you to the well specific Well Data View which opens up a few more options on how to interact with the well data.
The top of the Well Data view includes production spark plots for previous day Oil, Water and Gas production and are currently set to 30 day views.
The main portion of the screen consists of an operations trend consisting of data points that are pre-configured based on lift type. This means plunger wells and free flow wells will have different trend lines. What is plotted is currently not configurable, however the trend lines can be toggled on and off by clicking on the appropriate trend name in the legend above the plot. The axis on the right side of the plot can also be toggled by clicking on the Show Axes toggle switch on the right above the plot.
The bottom section of the view displays a slider that allows the user to select the data that is viewed in the trend. The default and max width of data that can be displayed is currently 72 hours and is able to be reduced to an 8 hour window for maximum data granularity.
The top right of the screen contains 2 buttons. The right most button is the View Well History button which will cause a slider pane to overlay the Well Navigation and Group Pane on the left and will display Memos and Remote Settings change information for the user to review. Note that memos are annotated on the trend plot with small grey page icons and solid grey vertical lines.
The Take Action on Well is a dropdown list that allows the user to Add Memos to the well or to navigate to the Well Details page. The Well Details page is very similar to a Device Details page and is structured with tabs and information about the well object that is currently selected. In fact, the user can navigate to the device details page for devices that are associated with the well by clicking on the blue device name hyperlink in the tag value listing.
The Device Details page is a useful resource for troubleshooting as the most current timestamps for each tag are shown here and can indicate where there are issues with each tag.
