Setting up facilities and sites accurately and in a meaningful way for the end user requires some up front coordination between the Integrator/Engineer, the End User, and eLynx.
If the Deliverables are clearly outlined and understood by all parties prior to the setup, it can significantly reduce errors and time spent re-working configurations in the field and in the application.
Clear deliverables are especially important when multiple assets are being monitored via a single RTU/PLC.
To this end, eLynx Support requires the following information for all Facility/Site setups:
Points of Contact
Please provide contact information for all of the following people:
- SCADALynx Customer End User
- Facility Engineer (if applicable)
Please provide the following information for each RTU/PLC that is being setup:
- RTU/PLC Type (Manufacturer, Model No., etc.)
- Protocol (e.g. Modbus, DF1, etc.)
- Communication Method
Please note that the Communication Method may be constrained by the RTU/PLC Type and Protocol used.
- Register Map (Including Data Types, applicable Scaling/Weighting Formulas, and Text Mask Codes*)
*For each discrete value, or any multi-state values needing a text masking, please remember to specify the associated code values. (E.g. 0 = Normal, 1 = Alarm, 55 = Manual Shutdown, etc.)
In order to make sure that each data point is set up both in the field and in the application in a way that lends itself to required deliverables, it is best that eLynx and the integrator be clear on what those deliverables are up front.
Please provide the following deliverable details, as applicable:
- Contract Hour for Gas Meters
- Contract Hour for Oil & Water Meters
- List of Alarm Set Points
- List of any Desired Calculations
- Samples of Desired Reports
eLynx Support will provide a timeframe for completion of the setup upon receiving all of the required information.
