Tag Level Set Points
The Tag Level Set Point Wizard allows you to create multiple alarm set points for a single well or device tag value using an easy step-by-step wizard. You can create this type of alarm in the Tag Level of the interface.
NOTE: To be able to configure a Tag Level Set Point alarm you must first be granted the appropriate security permissions by your administrator.
Navigating to Tag Level Set Points Page
There are two ways to navigate to the Tag Level Set Points page:
- Click on a data value from the Summary Listing
- Click on a device name from the Summary Listing
Click on a data value from the Summary Listing to get to Set Points:
- While looking at the Summary Listing, click on the data value on the row of the device you would like to create a set point.
2. Click the tab labeled Set Points from the Tag Details page.

2. From the Tag Values tab on the Device Details page click the name of the tag value you would like to create a set point.

Either of the two steps discussed above will direct you to a page similar to the following:
Choose a Set Point Administration Task
From this page you have two options:
- Create a New Set Point
- Edit an Existing Set Point
Create a New Set Point
To create a new set point, click Add Set Point in the top right corner of this section.
Edit an Existing Set Point
To edit an existing set point, click the Set Point Name.
The following pop-up box will appear:
You can update the Set Point Properties or click Next and update the Notification Options.
Set Point Properties
When creating a new set point, the Set Point Name field is required when entering the set point properties
To create a new set point:
- Enter the set point properties in each text field.
- Click Next.
When creating a Set Points you can utilize the Reusable Text Content, which will display the appropriate information in an email or text when devices meet your set point criteria (i.e. Device Name, Set Point Name, Operator, Set Point Value, etc.). Use the icon to the right of each text box, which will display a dropdown menu
Notification Options
In this step, you have the option to select recipients you want notified upon the device going into an alarm state.
From this section of the wizard you have two options:
- Notify selected recipients one time when in alarm:This will allows you to select recipients to be notified once upon moving into an alarm state and once upon the devicing clearing from alarm state.
- Use a scheme for alarm notifications: This will allows you to create a multi-tiered alarm notification, specifying who is alarmed, when they are alarmed upon alarm state confirmation, and how often they are notified before clear or acknowledgment

Notify Selected Recipients One Time When in Alarm
One-time alarms are the most simple alarm option. Selected recipients will receive one alarm upon the device going into an alarm state and one alarm when it clears back to a normal state. In this step you have the ability to select Notification Lists and/or individual users to be notified for this one-time alarm.
To assign recipients to a selected one-time alarm:
- Make sure the Notify selected recipients one time when in alarm radio button is selected.
- Click to highlight the appropriate Notification Lists (in blue) or Individual Recipients (in grey).
NOTE: You can select multiple recipients at once by clicking with your mouse and dragging or Ctrl + clicking with your mouse.
- Use the Select button to move recipients into the Selected Recipients box.
- Click Next. Click Finish to save changes up to this point of the set point wizard without adding devices or tags.
In this Notify selected recipients one time when in alarm method, you are able to customize your recipients and Notification Lists from this page.
Add New Recipient
To add a new email recipient, click New Email Recipient under the Selected Recipients box.
The following pop up will appear:
Enter the appropriate information in the fields listed and click OK.
Manage Notification Lists
To create a new or edit and existing notification list, click Manage notification lists... under the Available Recipients box.

Once you have created a new notification list or edited and existing notification list you are able to move back into the Multi-Device Set Point wizard by clicking Return to set point administration... on the bottom of the Managing Notification Lists page.
Use a Scheme for Alarm Notifications
This step allows you to create a complex alarm which is based on tiers using timing and logic.
To use an alarm scheme for alarm notifications:
- Make sure the Use a scheme for alarm notifications radio button is selected.
- Check the box next to the alarm scheme name you would like to utilize for this alarm.
NOTE: You are able to view a brief summary of the Alarm Schemes by hover with your mouse or using the plus
sign to expand the scheme view.
- Click Next. Click Finish to save changes up to this point of the set point wizard without adding devices or tags.
NOTE: You are able to view a summary of each scheme by hovering with your mouse or clicking the plus sign next to the scheme name to expand that section.

Manage Alarm Schemes
To create a new or edit and existing alarm scheme, click Manage alarm schemes... under the Alarm Scheme Listing box.

Once you have created a new alarm scheme or edited and existing alarm scheme you are able to move back into the Multi-Device Set Point wizard by clicking Return to set point administration... on the bottom of the Managing Alarm Scheme page.
