This section will cover the basic navigation of your website, including the following:
- Group Hierarchy
- Summary Listing
- Related Pages
- Simple Navigation of Your Website
Subsequent sections will discuss how to customize these listed features.
Upon setup of your private website, eLynx will create a Group Hierarchy. This hierarchy contains groups of devices that can be viewed within the Summary Listing. After set-up, you are able to create as many groups and subgroups as you need and organize your devices as you see appropriate.
The Group Hierarchy is composed of groups. A group can be the parent of other groups under it, called subgroups or child groups. There is no limit to the number of groups or subgroups that you can create. You are able to customize your own groups, including naming your groups and adding as many devices to each group as you would like. You can organize your groups based on type of equipment you are monitoring, the users that can access that group, pumper routes, business units, etc.
Each group contains devices. Devices contain tags. Tags are the individual data values being monitored. Tags are not shown on the Group Hierarchy. They are displayed within the Summary Listing when you click a group name in the Group Hierarchy.
A number next to the group name indicates how many devices are nested in that group. If there are no devices contained in that group there will be no number next to the group name. You can use the plus signs to expand each group and the scrollbar on the right side of the Group Hierarchy to view additional groups.
When you click a new group in the hierarchy the devices found in that group and certain customizable value columns that are polled for each device will be view-able on the right within the Summary Listing. You have the ability to see the most recent polled values listed in this screen. To learn more about the Summary Listing click here.
There are two places to view and access different groups from your hierarchy:
- Sidebar Group Hierarchy
- Summary Listing Hierarchy Drop down
This Group Hierarchy is found on the left side panel of the page. You have the capability to show and hide this Group Hierarchy. To do so, click Show Sidebar and Hide Sidebar in the top left corner of your page.
NOTE: If the Maximize Content option is in use you will simply see the Hide/Show Sidebar icon in the My Toolbar section at the top of your screen.
When you click Show Sidebar, the Group Hierarchy appears.
When you click Hide Sidebar, the Group Hierarchy is hidden to maximize your page real estate.
This Group Hierarchy is found above the Summary Listing area when the left sidebar is open or closed. It alleviates the need to open and close your Sidebar Group Hierarchy to navigate your groups when you need the extra page real estate within the Summary Listing. To view and navigate this hierarchy click the drop down next to the Summary Listing header and choose the group you would like to view:
The devices found within this group will display within the Summary Listing grid.
You can also use the Maximize Content icon in the top left corner of the page to allow for more screen real estate.
Once you click the icon, the top portion of your page will minimize hiding the top banner as depicted below. To see the Normal View simply click the Normal View icon.
You can navigate to the Summary Listing from any page within your website by clicking on Related Pages in the top right corner of the page and selecting Summary Listing from under Group Pages. You can also navigate to the Summary Listing view by selecting a group in the Sidebar Group Hierarchy or Summary Listing Hierarchy Drop down.
When you click on a group in one of the two Group Hierarchies, you see a Summary Listing of all the devices in that group. The data that is shown is based on the Current Configuration, displaying the last known value for each device in the group. This view can be customized by clicking on Configuration on the left sidebar of the page when the sidebar is shown and viewing a Summary Listing page. See Customizing the Summary Listing to create and save different page views.
If you have defined and saved more than one configuration, use the drop down box next to the Current Configuration name to view a different page configuration for that group.
To view a different configuration simply select a configuration in the drop down box as shown below:
See Customizing the Summary Listing to create different page views.
Rows Per Summary Listing Page
You have the option of how many meter rows are being displayed in the Summary Listing area. You can change your default rows per page number directly on the Summary Listing screen. Simply click the Rows drop down menu and select the amount of rows you would like to view per page. This will be the default view every time you log in for every group you view.
The summary at the bottom of the data column is either a total or average for the numbers in that column. Totals are shown as regular bold text; averages are shown as italicized text. The totals and averages are for all rows of data in a column, even if all rows are not shown on a single page.
Cell Background Colors
Individual cell background colors indicate alarm status within the Summary Listing. Any devices in alarm will always bubble to the top of the Summary Listing. Green and red are the acknowledged and alarm state color defaults; however, they can be changed when creating or customizing a set point.
- A red background indicates an alarm state, such as, pressure or temperature, being outside the normal range.
- A green background indicates an alarm state, such as, pressure or temperature, being outside the normal range that has been acknowledged.
Columns and Sorting
The columns are the attributes and data that are configured to be shown in the selected configuration. You can sort your grid by data values or names in a single column. To do this, click the column header name as shown below. The first click will sort your grid for that column Ascending Order and if you click the same column for a second time it will sort your grid for that column in Descending Order.
The Summary Listing page for any given device may have function icons listed at the right end of a device row. These icons indicate specific functions that you can perform for the device listed on the same row as the function icons. A sample of function icons is shown below.
The following function icons may be displayed, depending on the type of data being viewed:
