Group Trending
Group Trending allows you to view trends for tag values for an multiple devices.
To open a Group Trending page, follow the steps below:
- Select the group from the Group Hierarchy that you want to trend.
Or, when your sidebar is hidden, select the group from the Summary Listing Group Hierarchy Drop down that you want to trend.
2. Hover with your mouse over Related Pages in the top right corner and select Trending under Group Pages.

When you navigate to this page, you may or may not see data for a particular device. If you do see data you have already configured a group trend and saved it as default for this specific group of devices.
NOTE: You have the ability to create a new Group Trend, save the trend, and make it default to override the current default. Each group can have their own default Group Trend.
Creating a New Group Trend
When creating a new trend configuration, the default is set at a time frame of Previous 6 Days.
To create a new Group Trend, follow the steps below:
- Make sure your side panel is open where your Group Hierarchy is exposed and the Configuration tab is selected.
2. Click New Trend... at the top of the sidebar. Continue with the Trend Configuration Section Pop-Up steps below.

- Name this section by typing the new name in the Section Name text box.
NOTE: You will have the ability to add additional sections for this trend configuration after you click OK.
2. Choose if you want your values to be displayed on separate or a single axis and if you would like to Use industry standard colors for trending data values. Default is set to NOT display all values on a single axis and NOT display your trend lines using industry standard colors.
3. Choose from either or both the Group and/or Device tabs the group(s) or device(s) you would like to trend.
4. Under the Data Values tab, click to highlight the data values you want to trend for this device under the Available Data Values box and use the Select icon to move the data value(s) under the Selected Data Valuesbox.
5. Click OK. You will see in the left panel all of the options and sections you have customized.
NOTE: If you do not see your Configuration tab open on the left panel of your page with the trend configuration information you just selected. Click Show Sidebar at the top of your page.
Your trend will display as depicted below:

- When the page reloads a pop-up box will appear to set your Trend Configurationoptions.
NOTE: If your pop-up blocker is turned On, there will be a yellow bar at the top of your page. Click that bar and select Always Allow Pop-Ups from this website.
- Name this trend by typing the new name in the Trend Configuration Nametext box.
- Select the Time frame tab and selecting one of the four options.
- Optional:Click the Options tab to add additional items to your trend if relevant to this device.
- Click OK. This will cause a new pop-up to appear. Continue with the Trend Configuration Section Pop-Up steps.

- Name this trend by typing the new name in the Trend Configuration Nametext box.
- Select the Timeframetab and selecting one of the four options.
- Optional:Click the Options tab to add additional items to your trend if relevant to this device.
- Click OK. This will cause a new pop-up to appear. Continue with the Trend Configuration Section Pop-Up steps.
Editing an Existing Group Trend
To edit an existing Group Trend, follow the steps below:
- Make sure your sidebar is open where your Group Hierarchy is exposed and the Configuration tab is selected
2. Use the drop down menu at the top of the sidebar to select the configuration you want to edit.
NOTE: No matter which portion you are editing, if your pop-up blocker is turned On, there will be a yellow bar at the top of your page. Click that bar and select Always Allow Pop-Ups from this website.
The page will refresh and the trend will display with the changes that you have selected.
Saving a Trend Configuration
Once you have configured a trend view you wish to save for later use, you can save the current configuration. To do this, use the Save As... section at the bottom of the left sidebar.
To save the existing trend view, follow the steps below:
- Make sure your side panel is open where your Group Hierarchy is exposed. If it is not displayed click Show Sidebar at the top left corner of the page.
2. Click Save As... and type a name for the trend configuration in the New Configuration Name text box that appears in the menu.
3. Use the drop down menu to select the type of configuration - Private, Shared, or Shared-Read Only.
Configuration Type | Type Definition |
---|---|
Private | Only your username will be able to view and use this configuration. |
Shared* | All users will be able to use this configuration for the devices that they have access. The user that creates this type is the only user that can make changes to it. |
Shared Read-Only* | All users will be able to use this configuration for the devices that they have access. All users with the appropriate permissions granted to them can make changes to this type of configuration. |
* You must have the appropriate permissions granted to you by your administrator to be able to create a Shared or Shared Read-Only Configuration. See Security Permissions Definitions.
4. Click Save.
NOTE: If you type a name that already exists, a pop-up will appear asking you to use a name that does not already exist.
The date range that is saved is relative. Therefore, when the configuration is used in the future, it will apply the range of days, not absolute dates, when creating the new view.
If you wish, you can view your trend for a different time frame without having to update the trend altogether. To do so select the Override Time frame icon above your trend, click the Override configured time frame check box, Select the time frame you would like to view, and click OK.
You can open a printable version of your trend to print.To do so follow the steps below:
- Click Print Trend above the trend area.
2. Once the once the printable trend appears, click Print Trend in the upper left corner of the page.
NOTE: If your pop-up blocker is turned On, there will be a yellow bar at the top of your page. Click that bar and select Always Allow Pop-Ups from this website.
3. The printer options will appear for you to send to your printer. Click Print to print a hard copy of your trend.
You can export the data contained for this device for the current view by clicking Export in the upper right area of the page. You are prompted to either Open or Save the Excel spreadsheet. Click Open to see a view of the data immediately within Excel. Click Save to save it to a preferred location prior to viewing the file.
Displaying Saved Configurations and Creating Default Trends
You can access previously-saved trend configurations by selecting the name of a configuration in the Select a trend drop down box.
If desired, after you have loaded a saved configuration, click Set As Default to make it your default view for the current group.
